wstahn -> Cannot monitor large Perfomance Counter values (19.May2006 7:42:16 AM)

Hi,

I wanted to monitor Exchange Server's store.exe's virtual memory allocation. I created a new "Perfomance Counter" monitoring check and then selected "Process" "Virtual Bytes" and "store" as monitored instance.

The value of this should be less than 2.5 billion bytes (2,500,000,000). Unfortunately, when I enter this value, click store, and again open this monitoring check, the entered value has been converted to "25E09". This is the first fault, as it should be converted to "2.5E09"...

But to make things worse, this monitoring check always fails, in my case with the following result:
Result: Failed
Explanation: The retrieved value is not less than 2.000 (1348988928.000)

Obvioulsly such large value can't be monitored... Any ideas?

Wolfgang

Wolfgang,

What is the exact build of GFI NSM you are running?

We are checking out this issue further.
