PatrickHoban -> Inetinfo.exe using 100% CPU (21.Mar.2006 4:45:39 PM)

I am having an issue where inetinfo.exe will use 100% of the cpu causing my queue to backup (sometimes to over 900 messages). After a while it will go back down to normal levels and process all the emails. There does not appear to be a pattern to the cpu spikes. If I disable all the GFI services, IIS quickly processes all the messages in the queue and the cpu usages drops to normal levels.

I am running version 12 build 20060308 with the latest Bayesian update. I am running ME on a stand alone server as an SMTP gateway.

What's strange is I don't have debugging enabled (the debug registry entry is set to 0) but there are three logs showing up in the DebugLogs folder. The logs are mestrxlib.gfi_log.txt, ls_mta.gfi_log.txt, and PopService.log. mestrxlib.gfi_log.txt seems to show another entry right around the time the cpu starts to max out. An example of the entries in the log are below. These errors do seem to be occuring every 10 minutes.

2006-03-21,15:09:53,187,1,"#00000644","#00000384","error  ","MESTRXLIB","CJobManager::ExecuteJobs [0x3A82B8] - Error! Job [master_check] failed to execute properly! Chain execution interrupted."

I have tried reinstalling ME. I have tried reinstalling IIS & ME but still no luck.

Any ideas,

Patrick

Thank you for the response. However it became too serious of a problem that i ended up wiping out the server and starting from scratch. All seems to be working right now.

I am having the same issue, my pre-submission queue stays at around 650 (normally less than 10), and my CPU keeps spiking. I installed the latest version of ME12 this morning, and the system has been getting stuck on the queue.

I called into the help desk and Jimmy got me going again. We disabled, DNS blacklist, Phishing, and URI, then we used stopsinks.cmd to stop the services. Once the queue flushed (sent unfiltered email to users), we started the sink process and then re-activated the filters.
I am not sure if there was a corruption with the instal, but the steps he gave me stopped the problem.

Thanks for the update walterk1!

I think I have a similar problem. I checked the file mestrxlib.gfi_log.txt and I have the exact same error messages.

Is the procedure described the full method or was there more to it than that?

My queue is filling up faster than GFI can process it and it has only just started to happen after months of working just fine. I am on an older build - 12 - 20071203 - and haven't upgraded because it has been stable and working more or less ok.

Is it time to upgrade or will the fix mentioned solve my problem?

funkyd,

When you moved your firewall back and the LDAP queries on 3268 started performing fast again did your queue clear out?
