NOTE: This topic contains information regarding the changes within the various builds of the GFI WebMonitor.
The first entry will contain information about the latest build of GFI WebMonitor, while the posts below contain information regarding previous builds of the product.
Latest version of GFI WebMonitor:- Version 3.1
Latest build of GFI WebMonitor:- 20061218
Changes within this build include:
- NEW: Support for ISA Server 2006 Standard and Enterprise Edition.
- NEW: ISA parallel ARRAY CARP (client side) environment is now supported by default. No manual configuration is needed.
- NEW: Dedicated lightweight web server serves scanned files after clicking "Save to disk" button in Download status window. File retrieval now appears from original URL.
- UPDATED: Default site scan exception list. Added “adobe.com” due to Adobe reader self-updating application.
- UPDATED: SiteJudge.js site rating - Yahoo! script.
- CHANGED: The anti-virus scan timeout has been changed to 3 hours by default. This was done so as to cater for very big files. It is now manually configurable via the webmoncfg.txt file.
- FIXED: Web requests from SNAT clients with split http requests header could produce wrong site name in URL History.
- FIXED: The ISA firewall service can crash in certain memory conditions where the content-disposition filename is being reconstructed.
- FIXED: Scan timeout was sometimes causing an internal error in parallel anti-virus scans.
- FIXED: In cases where the Norman anti-virus engine hangs, the Norman anti-virus will fail to update signature files till the GFI WebMonitor service is restarted.
- FIXED: Norman didn’t visualize/update scanning process/progress within DownloadingPage.html.
- FIXED: GFI WebMonitor 3 was still scanning it files in the FTP exception list when the format “user:password@site.com” is used.
- FIXED: Intra ISA array communication didn’t work when GFI WebMonitor 3 was installed and when one authentication HTTP request header was splitted into 2 data chunks.
- FIXED: When Norman anti-virus scanner was selected as the only anti-virus scanner the web client’s http requests could not be scanned properly if request consisted of more than 1 data chunks.
- FIXED: Freezing of Internet Explorer for ~15 sec. when *.DOC was opened as embedded object from the Download Status window.
- FIXED: On multiprocessor machines the ISA firewall service was crashing.
- FIXED: Increased visible size of Download Status window when resizing from small web page window/frame.
- FIXED: Saving of *.XLS files from ftp via download status window didn’t open associated application.

Updates included in build 20050721:
- Fixed: Issue that the configuration could not be saved when used on ISA2004 Enterprise Arrays.
- Fixed: Crashing that occurred when WebMonitor was installed together with McAfee Antivirus Scanner.
- Fixed: Issue in daily reset of history.
- NEW: Email notifications when anti-virus licenses approach expiry.
- Updated: A file that has been successfully downloaded and scanned can be retrieved up to 2 hours after the download has finished (previously the retrieval time allowed was 30 minutes).
- Updated: Executable file name changes (service and AV scanner).
- Fixed: Several GUI issues for SNAT clients without Proxy but with firewall client installed.
- Fixed: Issues in installation with failure error 80070005.

- Fixed: Site domain was appearing as www.cnn.com/ not just www.cnn.com
- Updated: Engine AV interaction improvements
- Fixed: Yahoo! changed the reply page when searching for certain words on web pages necessitating a SiteJudge.js script change
- Updated: Help file
- Updated: Speed on loading of hard-coded authorized graphic files for non-sensitive pages/files from the ISA Server hard disk
- Updated: Timeout for ISA to get scanning lot (from 14s to 27s)
- Updated: Kaspersky now runs four engines instead of seven at once (Note: This can be customized through registry)
- Fixed: Error handling when Kaspersky AV issues error Expired -2147220899
- Fixed: Various small issues in the engine.

Updates included in build 20051201
- NEW: Norman anti-virus scanning engine.
- NEW: Licensing section now shows current number of user licenses in use.
- NEW: Options to disable blocking for corrupted and password protected ZIP files.
- NEW: Introduced further safeguards in anti-virus engines to protect against access denied situations during the GFI WebMonitor service startup.
- NEW: Option to set user credentials and proxy IP port via registry: [HKLM\Software\Gfi\WebMon\Updates(AdminsOnly)\] UpdateProxyIPPORT (string value like "127.0.0.1:8080"), UpdateUser (string value), UpdatePassword (string value).
- NEW: Option in webmoncfg.txt to specify the time when GFI WebMonitor should delete the downloaded file from the cache, after it has been successfully downloaded. This can be specified as follows:

- NEW: Logon user names containing a space are now accepted in the GFI WebMonitor GUI.
- NEW: Licensing shows licensing information for all anti-virus engines in licensed mode.

- FIXED: Occasionally ISA generated runtime replies for WSPad, WPAD and array. Response connections have not been removed from GFI WebMonitor active connections.
- FIXED: SiteJudge.js (added/removed some word site re-checking).
- FIXED: Links to GFI products.
- UPDATED: Help file.
- UPDATED: Debug logging extensions to ISA Server log with webmoncfg.txt switch [Notifications],"ISALogAddonsLevel" 0-none(default) 1-just blocked request 2-all.
- FIXED: msi/doc files that were being blocked when downloaded from Gmail.
- FIXED: Issues in installation when anti-virus engines are not installed. If this situation is detected, these engines are automatically downloaded prior to being switched on.
- FIXED: Possible problem with failed scans on Windows 2000 server.
- UPDATED: Installation stops firewall before installing GFI WebMonitor service.
- UPDATED: Email notification subjects.
- FIXED: Website rating feature waits up to one minute till ISA adds the website to its Destination set.
- UPDATED: Included latest Kaspersky anti-virus engine.
- UPDATED: The website domain may now appear as www.cnn.com/ not just www.cnn.com.

- UPDATED: Support for ISA2004 SP2.
- UPDATED: HTTP transfer encoding disabling can be now switched off from webmoncfg.txt by adding in section "[TrafficScan]" "DisableHTTPTransferEncoding=0".

- FIXED: Possible crash caused by use of non-terminated memory.
- FIXED: GFI WebMonitor bug on ISA 2000 which permitted non-authenticated users to access the GFI WebMonitor configuration through http://1.1.1.1. This issue only affected SNAT clients.
- FIXED: Possible firewall crash caused by GFI WebMonitor after consecutively enabling/disabling the GFI WebMonitor ISA plug-in.
- UPDATED: Added 4 new columns to ScanCatches.txt: header request type, HTTP code, real filetype and header type.
- FIXED: CRC error in Norman AV cab files.
- UPDATED: Added the application/x-javascript javascript content type.
- FIXED: The webmoncfg.txt manual switch LogScanFindings only worked in debug mode.
