Dear Nicks,

After I change the value of [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\GFI Fax & Voice\GFIAV\Ext\AttachChecker]
'BlockFiles_NoExt' (dword) to '0', I send one test email with one file without extension name.

MailSecurity will let this email pass but the attachment file is rename to *.dat! For example, the attachment file name "abc" rename to "abc.dat"!

Is it normal?

I run 8.0 build 20031007

Thank you for pointing out my error! I feel stupid now [Confused]

I tried to explain a post and had some of it wrong myself. This may help me with some of my issues.

I will edit that out as not to confuse anyone else.

I think that the .dat is not being added by MailSecurity, but by your email client (most probably you are using Outlook).

If MailSecurity is installed on your Exchange server, you can try disabling MailSecurity (from the MailSecurity configuration -> properties of the General node -> VSAPI tab) and send another email w/o a file extension.
