I agree that using Outlook is NOT a good workaround. We really want to use the FAXmaker message form.

I hope that this issue is resolved soon!

FYI tried updating to the latest server build just released and faxclient-v12 - Build 20050107.

Whilst I still have to test faxing, upon first testing SMS sending using the GFI Form (send via SMTP in this client build), I now get duplicate copies of all sent SMS (i.e. send 1 SMS, receive it twice on recipient device).

??????????

There are new builds for server (20050112) and client (20050107), that are described in the knowledge base. So I would like to know:
1) This problem has been solved with these updates?
2) If a sent fax is no longer put in the sent items folder of outlook, where can each one find the own sent fax?
3) In ftp.gfi.com, the client is dated 20050110. Is it the same of build 20050107? If it is a new build, what has been changed?

That sounds promising. Has anyone tried this build to see if the problem has been fixed?

I confirm that the latest version of the FAXmaker server does address the issue mentioned above.

In the latest FAXmaker client build, SENT faxes are not placed in the SENT items in Outlook. However, you can enable Sent fax reports, which will indicate if the fax has been sent successfully or not. Sent faxes are only placed in the Outlook Sent items if the fax is sent from Outlook.

FAXmaker client build 20050107 is the same as the one on our ftp site, with just a small minor change that effected the way that the FAXmaker client sent faxes using the SMTP protocol.

dskundric,
In your case, it seems that you sent a fax with no message text, and not attachment. If however the problem persists, please follow up theissue with support (support@gfi.com)

Thank you.

No i have not. i am already in contact with support. Same message with attachment is sent to [FAX:555] and 6666@f.s and second one gets to the proccess of faxing and for first one I get delivery status "there is nothing ...". Seems to me that in last release it was fixed problem with IIS crash but still does not handle messages sent to [FAX:....] correctly.

Good to hear. What is the upgrade process? Do I just install the new build on top of the old installation? Or am I supposed to uninstall the old version first?

I just installed, it detects and it removes the old version.

I don't think you have to uninstall independently of the install...

Also, haven't tried to fax yet using the Fax Form. Will try and post results, but it appears everyone else is having luck with it.

What's with the client software? All I see is the SMTP client. Has the MAPI client been removed from the site?

Hi,

There is currently a single FAX client which replaces the SMTP and MAPI clients.

I updated faxmaker to the latest builds for a customer that had the problem of iis crashing. That problem seems to be ok, now. But, I hve a couple of questions.
1) In the article KBID002260 it is said that with this latest client build "Copy of faxes being put in Outlook's 'Sent Items' folder feature has been disabled." I sent some test faxes and I found them in the sent items folder. It is not a problem for me, I would like to know if it is a stable feature and KBID002260 is wrong.
2) Also, I would like to know how I can send a fax to a contact that is not in any address book. I tried with something like 0293@faxmaker.com, or with [fax: 0293], but in some situations in the address filed I could not type chars such as @ or [], only numbers.

Thank You
