Interesting, looks like may of us are experiencing the same issue.
Outlook 2003, or Exchange 2003 seem to have issues with the Faxmaker Form, but work ok faxing in the other modes.
I have an Exchange 2000 setup running V12 Trial, my Outlook 2000 clients work fine, but the newer setups using Outlook 2003 (even with cache mode disabled) are experiencing the disappearing fax.
Several emails back and forth with support have yet yielded nothing. As this is clearly a widespread issue would it be possible to get a feel for where GFI stands? is the problem being worked on? any resolution in sight? I'm afraid that I cant give this solution a fair evaluation currently as it doesn't function in our environment, and we need to make a decision soon.

Hi Travis,
Is your setup utilising the split server mode? We have only developed this issue since removing Faxmaker from our exchange server, when everything worked well, and split the servers.
Hearing that you are further down the 'e-mailing support' path than myself doesn't fill me with any great hope that this may be fixed sometime soon, but like you feel some kind of 'update' from GFI would be great!

Hi,
Do you have any virus scanning software running on any of the following machines:
- the machine running MS Outlook and the FAXmaker client software
- the machine running Exchange server
- the machine running FAXmaker.
Can you try disabling them. Currently we are still investigating further what may be causing the issue, however this issue seems only to occur on specific installations.

Disabled virus software on server and client but no change.
FWIW I'm not running split server mode.

It would be best to check this issue on a case by case basis. Each user seems to have a slightly different setup, making troubleshooting of all the issues at the same time a bit difficult on the forum. If possible, please email us at support@gfi.com.

A quick workaround for this issue would be one of the following:
1. Uninstall the FAXmaker MAPI client, reboot the machine, and re-install it, selecting to make use of the Outlook message form. You will need to use Outlook to send faxes. The drawback of this is that the Contact information will not be retreived by Outlook when faxes are sent to contacts.
2. Uninstall the FAXmaker MAPI client, reboot the machine and isntall the FAXmaker SMTP client. Faxes will need to go directly to the FAXmaker machine, irrelevant if FAXmaker is installed on the same machine as Exchange. The drawback of this is that faxes will not be saved in the users' SENT items in Outlook.
In the meantime, we are still checking this issue.
Thank you.
