We have a multiple-domain model, with Exchange 2k at each of our 3 sites. We had Fex9 at 2 of our sites; in order to do this we first ran 'fex -a schema' at the 3rd site, which hosts our top-level domain.

Then we uninstalled fex9 from one of our servers, in preparation for switching hardware. Unfortunately, the admininstrator chose to also uninstall the shared components.

What harm will this have done, and how can we fix it? - we've not taken any further steps, for now.

Thanks for any advice.

You have not lost the schema updates. To get the shared components again, you must install FEX9 and uninstall it without removing the shared components. This will also fix your other installation on the same organization.
