I've been using WebMonitor 3 since September. Although it does seem to trap many adult sites, it is also trapping many non-adult sites... like ebay.com, irs.gov, and most recently, gfi.com! I'm having to add sites to my excluded list which should have never been blocked and which have been added to the "Adult" block list.

What's going on? And when will a new version be available? My users are beginning to feel a bit frustrated. Any word?

Best,
TJ

Switch "Site Rating" it off.
Big relief for your users!
Big relief for you, too!

For the time being there is no porn filter in no search engine which really works.

Microsoft might be able to make one. Their SPAM filter including updates is really good and for free.

Millions of men all over the world purchase computers with Windows licences for the purpose of seeing nude photos.

Thus, Microsoft won't.

Your users are adult. They have attained maturity, legal age.

In my humble opinion it ought to be their choice. Not your's, not Yahoo's, not Google's and certainly not GFI's.

If there is a lack of social control in your work environment, information technology can't compensate. I don't think so.

WebMonitor is not a good content filter. That was just a marketing idea of the guys and girls who try selling it to us. "Site Rating" is a feature to be disabled. Far too many false positives, far too many false negatives.

WebMonitor is a good and affordable second layer virus scanner for HTTP and FTP. If it would scan HTTPS as well, I would consider buying it.

Next version, maybe.

Doesn't scan https?

My trial is due to expire in a couple of weeks. I have it narrowed down to this solution or Mcafee's. Any reason why Webmonitor is better than McAfee?

Back to my original question... when will a newer version be available? And what features will be added?
