How much longer do we have to wait for this? Everytime I want to download something I have to add myself to the exclude list. I would leave it like that but I'm not comfortable in doing so for obvious reasons.

Please include this functionality ASAP, I personally don't think you realise how important this is for your customers.

Regards,

Sean

Hi Sean,

This is currently being worked on, however there are still no realistic release dates currently.

Thank you.

Hello,

I agree with many customers here on this forum, the quarantine feature in GFI Download Security was one of the reasons we purchased GFI Download Security. We installed a ‘test’ server with Windows 2003 server, ISA 2004 SP2 and GFI Webmonitor and we were surprised that the quarantine functionality was simply GONE.

I think, I speak for everyone here when I say: ‘Bring back the quarantine functionality in the next release of GFI Webmonitor ASAP’. We will NOT UPGRADE until this issue has been resolved.

Kind Regards,

We have just upgraded to Webmonitor 3 which is advertised as a replacement for Download Security. The quarantine feature is a shocking loss so we have had to revert back to download security again. We don't want users downloading files without approval. I think GFI should make it clear that Webmon is not a replacement for Download Security yet !
Looking forward to the next build of webmonitor with the quarantine functionality in it, otherwise we have wasted a lot of money for nothing.

A minor wrinkle:

Not surprisingly (given the changes in the update), DownloadSecurity 6 crashes with ISA 2004 SP2.  Now we're stuck deciding between DS6 & waiting for quarantine in WebMon or ISA SP2 w/ WebMon and no quarantine.

Do any other DS6 holdouts have problems accessing definition updates from update.gfisoftware.com? Our MailSecurity installation is getting updates just fine. We have a support agreement in place through June of this year.

GFI - we need to keep that quarantine functionality. Please expedite this critical feature!

Our license of DS6 just ended, and so are the virus definition updates....

I just had contact with our Dutch Reseller (NDI), and I cannot get an update license for DS6.
So, it seems like GFI is forcing customers to upgrade (I think it is a downgrade till the quarantine is added) to WebMonitor!
It seems that (according to my contact at NDI) that GFI is working on the quarantine, but no release date as of yet.

We are using GFI Mailarchiver, GFI Mailessentials and Downloadsecurity and are pleased with the funcionality, but this update "policy" is ridiculous!

I just installed webmonitor as part of a maintenance weekend.  It's really nice :)  I'm glad I can finally make configuration changes without restarting services.

I've been one of the biggest proponents for quarantine, and while I'd still like to be able to approve downloads, such as executables, I can work around it with an account that is not subject to scanning and manually give the user the file they need.  Thankfully this isn't a common occurance, but I could imagine the headache for someone who has to do this multiple times per day.
