Hi,

There is already a fix available.

Always when you have a problem do cotact GFI support. If there is a fix, they will forward it to you.

Anyway, here is the fix: http://clientsupport.gfi.com/2005_07_12_01_NSMEngine6.zip

Download it, stop the engine service and replace the file.

The fix was confirmed by Ray via email.

Best regards,
Calin

Hi,

Just a question: i've been sent another fix yesterday, that addresses the SSH problems i've been having. After applying the fix, i no longer had SSH login failures, but i do however have a new problem related to ICMP. The SSH script depends on an ICMP ping prior to executing the script. Now since yesterday 9pm (some 6 hours after applying the fix) the dependee suddenly failed, saying it was in maintenance. Now i'm pretty sure i did set a maintenance time, but at 11pm. And that shouldn't last longer than 1 hour of maintenance. The entire night it was 'in maintenance' and thus the SSH script didn't get executed either.

My question is, can i apply this fix, or will it reintroduce the SSH problem again? Or should i just wait for a new release version? It's not a big problem, since i simply configure NSM so that the SSH script does not depend on the ping, but it would be nice [Smile]

Thanks,

/errtu

Hi,

The fix for ICMP ping concerned an issue in the check itself (not related with ssh). However, since the SSH fix was made after the icmp ping one, it should also contain the icmp ping fix and you should be fine with the latest engine file you have.

However I will confirm this with the developer and get back to you with a post or with a complete fix if the case.

Best regards,
Calin

Hi,

This may be another issue (than the one with ICMP or the one with SSH).

It could be related to an issue in maintenace intervals funcitonallity appearing if different time zones exist for the monintored servers, or it can be a missconfiguration in the dependency section of the rule.

Do you have servers monitored which have different time zone than the one on which NSM is installed?

If the above does not apply, please reproduce the situation, get the debug logs and follow this up with gfi support.

Best regards,
Calin
