How is your email flow configured? Does the machine running the GFI products receive the emails diretly from the internet?
Does the problem occur to both inbound and outbound emails?
You should note that when the GFI products (MailEssentials and MailSecurity) are installed on a Gateway, they will both plug into IIS SMTP server. IIS SMTP server will act as a relay server, and the GFI products will scan the emails as they pass through IIS.
Therefore you can also check the IIS directories to see if the emails are being stopped in any IIS directory. By default this is found in C:\Inetpub\mailroot. Check all the sub-directories for any files, which would normally be your emails.
