I had never had this problem up until today. This was the first time I have used a text file with a list of workstations as opposed to a subnet scan, this was also the first large scale scan using the newly added vulnerabillities. Our environment utillises Norton AV for virus scanning. If I can give you any further info please let me know.

In order to scan my lan for missing patches, I have to do it in approximately 25 ip address chunks and then reboot the Languard server before I can do another 25. I don't have a demo license key.

Was uploaded build 20050420. The build includes fixes for two problems which could produce those hangs. Also the speed in case of missing patches scanning should be improved with 20-40% depending by network performance (especially for WANs) Any feedback about this build functionality and performance will be greatly appreaciated

FYI, I'm not sure if anyone elses problems will be similar to mine but I found some machines which were causing my scans to hang. It was running something called Spartacom which is a modem pooling product http://www.spartacom.com/products/mpnt.htm
stop the service and all of a sudden my scans all became happy again!

I did replace the database and the scans complete now but a scan of a segment just took 3 hours 38 minutes and it used to take about 20 minutes with version 5. We have AV on the clients but we did with version 5 as well and the speed wasn't affected so much. I find everything is slower in the interface with version 6.

The scans were made in the same conditions? I mean from same machine & same profile & same targets ? How many computers do you have in that subnet? If are 255 as in log posted result, and assuming missing patches profile, is a very short scan time (~4 sec. per computer). Do you scan a limited number of patches?
I suggest to try a LNSS6 scan using a SQL server or MSDE database. Also if you still have that huge time with ver.6 please send me other logs

I ran the troubleshooter tool and the support folder it generates is 160 MB. I looked at the other zipped file I sent and it is not that big. Can you tell me which files you need?

Log.csv would be enough because contain info from all modules. But you should run the application with debug=1 within HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\GFI\LNSS6\Config key. Also in order to reduce the troubleshooter archive size please delete the old logs before running the application with debug set to 1.

The debug value is currently set to 1 from the time before when I ran the troubleshooter. I have sent the log.csv to you.

I also notice now that once a scan is running I can't look at other settings. I tried to view the profiles and the screen won't change. It's taking about 3 minutes per system on average.

I have used version 5 on another system and the scans and everything are working fine. I would still like to fix version 6 though as it is installed on our server.

Correction on the working fine. I can scan the systems OK but when I try to patch them I get access denied. I log onto the other system with a non-admin account and installed LNSS with the option to use a domain admin account. I scan with currently logged on user and the the domain admin account is specified and grayed out. I get access denied copying to all systems. If I use alternative credentials and the same domain admin account
