Hello, Our Faxmaker crashed several times a day. The event viewer gives the following two descriptions: Event ID 1004 Reporting queued error: faulting application fmserver.exe, version 8.0.0.652, faulting module ntdll.dll, version 5.2.3790.4455, fault address 0x0001a379. Event ID 1000 Faulting application fmserver.exe, version 8.0.0.652, faulting module ntdll.dll, version 5.2.3790.4455, fault address 0x0001a379. There is no virus scanner which scans the Faxmaker folders. Does anyone know how to solve these crashes?

To start with, please also make sure that you have any Backups excluding the ..\Faxmaker directory (http://kbase.gfi.com/showarticle.asp?id=KBID003317). Also, check to make sure DEP (Data Execution Prevention) is either disabled or set for Essential Windows programs and services only. Please let me know if either of these suggestions help.

DEP is not disabled on our server. DEP is turned on for all programs and services exept some applications which we have specified. Is it also ok to turn off DEP only for fmserver.exe?

I always suggest setting DEP for essential windows programs and services only, but if you are going to do it specific for a service, I would suggest fmserver.exe, fmservic.exe, and fmgwinet.exe.

Ok, we have set DEP for essential windows programs and services only. The faxmaker directories are excluded from our backup. The is no antivirus software installed on our server. Unfortunately this does not solve our problem. Faxmaker still crashes frequently.
