Hi, I have an outstanding ticket but not having much luck (again) so am posting here. Email comes in and is Qtined by MailSecurity for a keyword. It is legitimate so I approve. It is trapped by MailEssentials for say Bayesian with action forward to security@mydomain.edu.au It is then Qtined by MailSecurity again for the first reason. So I approve again and if I am lucky it gets to my MailEssentials address as above, then I have to forward to the user. Why does it bounce like this, never did this before? Now this has all started just recently since new builds were done for both products. MailSecurity 10 20090819 MailEssentials 14.1 20090826 Both products are on the same machine Windows Server 2003, using IIS SMTP virtual server. Yes the IP address of this machine is IP whitelisted (always has been) I have also whitelisted the internal email address trying to fix, but this sometimes get ignored and then the following happens. Sometimes it also loops forever, MS to ME to MS to ME to MS and so on, stuck. Any ideas. I am posting this to MailSecurity forum also. Cheers

I've been informed that there have been a couple of patches released for ME and MSEC. The ME one specifically targets whitelist issues, which might help you out.

Hey RSP thanks for the info, yes there is a ME patch, got it and installed. Fixed half the problem. I am not getting the infinite loop, only getting the 1 bounce. But to achieve this I still have to have my internal address in the whitelist, so the story is now: Email comes in and is Qtined by MailSecurity for a keyword. It is legitimate so I approve. It is trapped by MailEssentials for say Bayesian with action forward to security@mydomain.edu.au It is then Qtined by MailSecurity again for the first reason. So I approve again and now because of the email whitelist working it gets to my MailEssentials address as above, then I have to forward to the user. I dont like having an internal address whitelisted, a little exposed. So although ME, MS and SMTP are on the same machine and the IP address is whitelisted, it still bounces off ME. I cannot see any patches for MS, maybe the answer is there......

Finally my problem has been ackowledged as bug. "You are suffering from a known issue and it already has been reported to our development." "They will provide a solution either in form of a patch or a new service release." Fingers crossed for a fix soon....
