Hi, I have the following question

I created custom check using VB-script file. it's scheduled to fire every minute. I set up email notification ("once after failure" option is selected) and I thought that I will get email every time check fails (in my case every minute since function in VB script always return false).

So can receive email after each failure?

I tried to use "once every 5 minute as long as check continues failing", but I am not sure that it means the same (and anyway I will need to double frequency settings). and also when I check this option and disable and then enable check it won't start sending emails right away - don't know what it is waiting for.

Any help is appreciated.

Go to the 'Check Properties' -> 'General' tab -> 'Error threshold'.

Check whether the threashold is set to '1'. If it is set to more then one, then GFI Network Server Monitor will need to do the check multiple times before considering the check as a failure.

In order to receive the email notification every minute until the check continues to fail, you will also need to increase the frequency of the alerts in order to receive the alerts every minute.

Patrizia, thanks for response.
yeah, error threshold is set to 1.

now I have check scheduled to run every 1 minute, error threshold is 1, "send failure alerts" is set to "once every 1 minute as long as ...."
I enabled check five minutes ago, and still no alerts. (if I click "monitor now" I receive failure result, so alerts should be sent since check always fails).

already 15 minutes and still no emails.

ok, it started sending them after 20 minutes I had enabled check. Why there is a such delay?

next time I disabled and enabled check it started notification in 2-3 minutes. strange

Can you check what the monitor is saying about the checks? Is the check failing? What action is being taken?

You can check this from the GFI Network Server Console itself -> Monitoring Check Status.
