Hi,

I am having a problem getting the bulk exporter to connect. We use HTTPS so our user can access Ma from the internet.
I have tried using IP address and with no luck. I have treid it on the MA server and on another computer.

This is from the error log.
MArcBulkExport","Error: Connection failed to store webservice - The request failed with HTTP status 404: Not Found."
2008-06-12,07:08:04,766,1,"#00001028","#00000005","info   ","MArcBulkExport","Getting List of databases >>"
2008-06-12,07:08:04,875,1,"#00001028","#00000005","error  ","MArcBulkExport","Error: Get Database list failed. The request failed with HTTP status 404: Not Found."

Looks like it cant handle https.

Any way of getting this working?

I had the same problems, basically GFI Archiver needs a pretty vanillia Exchange configuration.

In order to successfully import mailboxes and PSTs I had to:-
  • Disable forms based authentication on OWA
  • Disable any Group Policy for Outlook 2007 PST lockdown
  • Ensure new server admin has correct regional settings
  • Wear red socks and stand on one leg

Once you've finished with the GFI Import Service you can restore your original setting but until then secured public Outlook Web Access using Forms Based Authentication is out!

Hi James,

Thanks for that. Its the Bulkexporter i'm having problems with. The import (which i have used) works fine with HTTPS.

Roger

I had an exporter problem a few months ago where all my efforts brought back a 404 error. It turned out to be caused by the URL I was using. Only http://server/website would work. http://server/website/main.aspx or anything else would not. The original conversation is at http://forums.gfi.com/Cannot_connect_with_Bulk_Export_tool/m_900760985/tm.htm

Ramjet,

If you attempt to open the URL in IE do you receive the same 404 error?

Hi John,

On the MA server
I can browse to the MA in IE using

If i use this with the bulkexporter i get a different error.

2008-06-24,06:08:04,732,1,"#000014DC","#00000003","error  ","MArcBulkExport","Error: Connection failed to store webservice - The underlying connection was closed: Could not establish trust relationship for the SSL/TLS secure channel."
2008-06-24,06:08:05,223,1,"#000014DC","#00000005","info   ","MArcBulkExport","Getting List of databases >>"
2008-06-24,06:08:05,254,1,"#000014DC","#00000005","error  ","MArcBulkExport","Error: Get Database list failed. The underlying connection was closed: Could not establish trust relationship for the SSL/TLS secure channel."

On the MA server, in IE If i use the url that we use for connecting from the internet or from another PC it wont accept my logon details.

We were running the V4 of the MA (using http) and the bulkexporter worked fine. We did a fresh install of V5 on another server and because we need to make it available to our users anywhere in the world we converted to https. We have done mail exports from mailboxes into MA with no problems.

Regards

Roger

Ramjet,

Try installing the security certificate for the GFI MailArchiver site and then use the bulk export tool.
