We have bee using Events Manager for a couple of years.  I have never been able to get a satisfactroy level of reporting from Events Manager.  Part of this is due to using the desktop version of SQL.  We have just added a full SQL server to stor the database on.

I have a few questions that I cannot seem to find answers for.

What auditing do I need to turn on in Windows?
Currently most of the auditing is turned on. The problem is that it makes the event logs large very quickly.  Can I turn some off?    What are other people doing in the real world?
How do I reduce noise?

I would like to monitor file access, but the problem is when a Windows system does an index, I get too many false readings.

Thanks,  Shane
