In the knowledgebase there is an enty with this id:

The suggestion there is to exclude the complete GFI-directory from any backup. I'm asking myself if GFI is serious about this suggestion. What about the cover sheets or the settings which are located somwhere beneath the GFI directory? I will loose everything in case of a crash. Hope one day the suggestion in this knowledgebase article will be a bit refined...

Hello Ralph,

If you require a back-up of the FAXmaker directories, you can do so by first stopping the FAXmaker services, backing up the directory and then re-starting the services when done.

The stopping and starting of services can be done via a batch file.
