I have been sending out SP2 to our test systems using GFI. We have the firewall disabled through GPO. Following the install of the SP and a reboot, the firewall appears disabled but you are unable to manage the system or ping it. Msoft released a bulletin that addresses this problem and there is a command line to reset the security so it doesn't happen. I have created a batch file that runs the command and then does a gpupdate /force to disable the firewall again right away. I want to send out SP2 and this batch file using GFI as a custom deployment. My question is that if I add the SP2 exe from the repository will it run silently with no parameters the way it does when I deploy a service pack or will I need a switch to make it run silently?

The deployment switch to install XP SP2 is /quiet or /q. Also you should use /norestart switch and complementary the "Reboot the target computer" option in deployment tool: /quiet /norestart
