We have been asking this same question since the 20th of January, and it's now almost June. They will not tell us a date for BETA, if there is a beta, or the status, nor will they tell us ANY idea about when it might be avaliable. My last response from GFI - 5 weeks ago, was "in the future" . . . . . I love the product, but the lack of support for 70 users I have on VISTA is pretty silly from a group this big and a product this successful.

Hi, The client computers on the network I am currently working on were under XP and everything was fine. Then, the client computers have been upgraded to Vista (the server remains exactly the same), and everything is working fine except the "printing". Before the upgrade, when you printed a document, an Outlook new message form was created if you selected the printer "Faxmaker". Now, nothing happens on Vista client computers. The installation of the Faxmaker client software on Vista works fine except for the installation of the printing driver. During the installation , I got a notice alert saying a dll is missing : unidrv.dll. I copied this dll from a XP computer but the printing driver still doesn't seem properly installed although the installation Wizard stated it was "successful". And nothing happens when I choose "Faxmaker" as the printer when I print a document. When will the Vista compatible faxmaker client software be available ? Is there something I can do to be able to "print" and send fax via Outlook new message form ? Thanks.

Hi, We will soon release a new build of the FAXmaker client which will support Windows Vista. We will post in this thread when this is available (you may want to subscribe to this thread, and an email will be sent to you when the thread is updated.). Thank you.

i have a number of clients using XP and GFI FaxMaker without a problem.. we have pushed most clients to stick with XP Pro for upgraded machines - however the availability of IBM/Lenovo workstations and notebooks which come bundled with XP Pro are slowly drying up and we'll be left with Vista Business only.. I know on the test machine's we've loaded up there is no way to print to faxmaker - and this renders the product useless... i've tried all manner of ways of runas /env, etc to get it to install the printer but seems it doesn't.. a more substantial ETA on Vista support would be really appreciated, as a consultant the whole Vista thing is a major problem for us due to software not working properly with it and the afforementioned stock issue...

I just hope that tech guys from GFI issue an updated driver soon. I'm using the faxmaker for networks/smtp version 11 hopefully they include this when upgrading the driver. I must say I've been using this program for quite sometime now and I've got no major issues, cept when I tried to use it with vista...

Hi all, Currently, the only way to send faxes from Windows Vista is to send emails using the format <number>@faxmaker.com. The FAXmaker client which supports Vista will be released soon, although currently we do not have a release date. However the updated FAXmaker client will only work with FAXmaker 12.

sidus05, The Windows Vista users can already send faxes using their email client, as explained in my previous post. Unfortunatly, we still do not have a date for the release of the updated FAXmaker client which supports Vista.

I am surpised that it is taking GFI so long to support Vista, normally they seem very quick to support any OS changes. The lack of Vista support with GFI is now holding up my scheduled replacement of desktop machine, okay for a few months but it is now starting cause problems. It is disappointing that I am having to replace dead machines with new ones that I have to pay for Window XP when for the same money I could have had Vista.

We are waiting a Vista version since 6 months now. We are testing all our softwares under Vista before we will replace our PCs. Very surprisingly FaxMaker will be one of the last software ready for Vista. Of course, when our tests are completed, if FaxMaker is not available under Vista, we will just buy a competitive product which is working under the latest Microsoft plateform, it is more expensive than an Gfi upgrade but up-to-date. What is worrying is that Gfi is not able to give reasons why this takes such time, and a date for a new release. I am hearing about version 14 since last December but Gfi tell they do not even know if this version will support Vista. Strange marketing ....

Hi, The FAXmaker client included in the next version will support Windows Vista. Note that if users are sending faxes using their email software, they can still send faxes from Vista. These users do not require the FAXmaker client to be installed on their machines.
