I am EVAL all GFI products to replace Trend NeatSuite Package.
Do you have a product to replace Trend ServerProtect or recommend any ? Could I install Trend Serverprotect on the Server together with GFI MailSecurity and MailEssentials, and exclude GFI directories, in order to protect file shares ?
Thanks Jesper

Hi Jesper Frier,
It is not recommended that you have a virus scanner installed on the MailSecurity machine.
However if an anti-virus software is required, you need to ensure that the GFI directories are excluded. Further information can be found at: http://kbase.gfi.com/showarticle.asp?id=KBID001559

Do you plan to release antivirus for OS and file shares ?
I will not have my SMTP Server and Exchange Server running without such such protection ... think you agree.
Regards Jesper

Jesper,
Several of our clients used McAfee products prior to our bringing them GFI solutions. In these cases, we've renewed the clients with McAfee's VirusScan Suite which comes with VirusScan for the desktops and NetShield for servers. It does not ship with GroupShield or any of the other products other than the management piece. It's relatively inexpensive as well. Seems to be the best bang for the buck.

Hello Jesper , I too use Trend software & apart from the exchange/gateway interscan products, I'm pretty happy with it.
We to are moving to exchange 2003/windows 2003 from exchange 5.5 on win 2k.
How have you found the GFI software so far, and have you replaced your Trend AV software?
Danny

Hi Danny, we are satisfied with GFI MailSecurity and MailEssentials so far.
We run GFI MailSecurity on both gateway and on our Exchange 2003 Server.
We still use Trend software to protect file shares on servers and workstations. As long as we exclude GFI directories in Trend software, there are no problems whatsoever having them both installed.
Regards Jesper

Weird problem here...
Having checked and double-checked in the Symantec AV settings that the following folders are specifically EXCLUDED from realtime scanning on the server, I still see that it is "scanning" messages being sent through our MSEC/MESS server.
C:\InetPub (and all sub-directories)
C:\Program Files\GFI (and all sub-directories)
C:\TEMP
C:\WINDOWS\TEMP
Any ideas what could be wrong?
