Finished a backup, rebuilt a machine, and now want to restore email settings and other settings that were backed up. However when I right-click on the item I want to restore, Restore and Restore To are grayed out. Any idea why?
Thanks

Hi whitetr6

I assume that after you rebuilt the machine, you didn't import any previous backup in GFI Home Backup 2009. In this case, press the button "Restore" in the main window of GFI Home Backup 2009, select your restore type (Restore an entire BAckup or Restore individual files or folders) and then select your previous backup file from its destination. After that press Restore button if you want a direct restore task or restore to if you want to copy the backup files elsewhere.

I follow what you're telling me, but I did import the backup. I can see the backup job in the upper pane of the window. I can choose the various components of that backup job - files, Windows settings, Outlook, etc. I just can't choose restore because it's grayed out.

Hi whiter6,

I tried to reproduce your issue but I can't. Please send me a screenshot with the GFI Home backup window.

Thank you

I am having a similar problem. I did 2 backups to a local folder, no problems with that. I click on RESTORE on the main screen, select ADVANCE VIEW to see the files and every RESTORE and RESTORE TO button is grayed out.

Restore and Restore to buttons are active only when you select items that are valid for the restore operation. Try to select some files from your backup and see if those buttons activate.

Dumitru,
I'm having the same problem even after selecting files from the backup set.

For me the restore icons are grayed out regardless whether I select a file or a folder.

roger8000, do you have a task selected when you try to click on restore ? Did that task ran at least once ? A screenshot would help, and maybe the GBT and LOG file of that task, there;s a stick post on this forum where you can find how to send GBT. LOGs and screenshots.
