I'm using the current release of ME9 and am about a week into my evaluation.

I am using Outlook XP with Exchange 2000.

Today I added a Note in the Notes folder and it was quarentined for failing the rule: Exploit(s) found: Long Subject (Suspicious)

When I deleted the Note it failed the rule again in my deleted folder.

Are the filters really scanning the Notes folders? Are they scanning the Calendar, Tasks and Journal also?

Follow-up to my earlier post.

I just looked at my configuration again and realized that I don't have this filter set to scan internal email so why did it scan the Note I created in the Notes folder.

Something really weird is going on with this release version. I had a really weird thing happen with the decompression engine filter yesterday which I am going to detail in a separate posting.

Hi, What version and build of MailSecurity are you using?

Is MailSecurity installed in VS-API mode?

I'm on the current release ME 9 Build 20030901

I am running in VS-API mode on Exchange 2000 server (current on all patches).

I also opened a support issue on this and sent the troubleshooter files to Keith.

Thanks

Jim

Whoops. I meant MS8 not ME9 in my previous post.
I'm trying to evaluate and troubleshoot both at the same time and getting confused.

Sorry

MailSecurity in VS-API mode will scann everything that is stored in the Exchange Information Store.

So you mean that if I have MS installed in VS-API mode MS will ignore the option "Check Internal Email".

The filter/rule which is deleting my notes is "Long Subject" and it is set not to scan internal emails.

We are a law firm and if MS is going to act like Pacman and eat all attorneys calendar entries for their trials, etc. we can't use this product nor can any other business I suspect.
