Hello,
is it possible to add the feature when a download is ready to put all downloads in quarantine like it has been integrated in downloadsecurity?
Because in our company nobody should download any program files without our checking !
Thanks
Martin

Hi Martin,
Thank you for your feedback!
I will forward your suggestion to the product manager. We can not guarantee that your feature requests will be added to the next version, however your suggestion will be reviewed when we design the next version of our product. If the request has been made by many of our customers it will get serious consideration, if not its unlikely to be included in the next version.
Thank you for your cooperation & understanding

I also agree that the quarantine feature should be added. That was most of the reason that we purchased download security and will not be upgrading until this featurew is in place.

I too think this should be a standard feature. Please GFI add ASAP.

This quarantine facility would be most helpful on resolving the problem with zip files into which the product does not recurse.
Please include it asap.

unofficial, and not confirmed, news says: another two months, at least, to wait.

ORIGINAL: spino unofficial, and not confirmed, news says: another two months, at least, to wait. That's disappointing, especially since Nicholas stated that the feature was being worked on and would be released in a future build 'soon'. That was mid-September. 3.1 has now been released and no quarantine. How much longer for this feature - another three months? The problem for me is that I don't want users to have access to ANY executables, but I still have the need for them, and occasionally I need to give a user an executable that they attempted to download (it's ok if the quarantine interface isn't setup - I never used that. I just need a repository for all downloaded exes so I can pull from them as needed). From the way I see it (I haven't tried wm3, I can't risk the interruption to my production server), if I block executables, web mon will abort the download of them at the content-type header stage and they won't ever get to the cache (is this even directly accessible like the \\isa\quarantine folder?). The ability to block executables but still allow occasional access to them without reconfiguring settings or restarting services was the MAIN benefit/feature of download security in my organization.

I agree with the need for the quaratine functionality to be included in WebMonitor 3. The ONLY decent thing about Download Security 6 was the quarantine facility and now even that has gone! What has been most annoying though is that when we upgraded our maintenance agreement and were told that we HAD to go to WebMonitor from Download Security 6 we were not informed of that disappearance of the quarantine facility!! Because the quarantine function is extremely important to us we've had to go straight back to Download Security 6 - which now won't work correctly. I called GFI support to explain the situation and get this working and all they have said that they can't do anything because "Download Security is no longer supported software". Also I've heard this "will be available in 2 months" sort of thing before - I will believe it when I see it. We will now have to look for a product that will do what we want.

Hi, Although we still do not have any release dates for the quarantining system, it is still planned to be included in a future build / version. Your comments have been noted in our requested features. Thank you for your patience.

We're also waiting for the quarantine feature to return before upgrading to WebMonitor - will Download Security continue to receive updates indefinitely? Thanks, Chris

DownloadSecurity will continue to receive Anti-Virus updates, but no new product updates will be released.
