Hi,

I recently upgraded from MS 9 to MS 10 Build 20070619. Everything went fine so far for two days until today, when the IIS web interface suddenly quit working when I was checking some configurations with the MS web interface. Suddenly I got HTTP 404 error when clicking the menu items. I swear I didn't change anything on the server's or IIS' configuration. I truly was only clicking though the MS web interface menu items in that moment.

I then quit the browser and tried again to open the web config page: The "GFI Content Security" splash screen is visible for a short time, then I got the HTTP 404 error. The address line in the browser states http:// <local server name>/mailsecurity/default.aspx . I can't access the website from the local machine nor can I from other computers within the LAN. Other Websites on the same IIS (Outlook Web Access and others) still work fine.

I then restarted IIS, restarted the machine and even re-installed MS10 - no success! When switching to local mode using the SwitchBoard, I can access configuration, switching back to IIS again still does not work.

It is a Windows Server 2003 with Exchange 2003 on it. What can I do?

If you did not find an answer yet try KBID002202. We had the same thing and this fixed it.

... thanks for that idea, but I already tried it: I first registered for v2.0 - no change, then tried v.1.1 - again no change...

What should be the correct version to register?

... ok, I fixed it this way: I gave "Users" R/W permissions for the wwwconf folder and all its sub folders.
