After upgrading to MARC6 I am having the following problem on SOME of my DB's.

********
Checking database schema...
Upgrade schema failed. Database cannot be used.
Please select another database or contact GFI Technical Support.
********

These DB's with the problem are stored on older external hard drives connected via USB 1.1.  I think this might just be a time out since it takes longer to communicate with those DB's due to the hard drive speed.

The current year DB and last year's are on a internal drive array, and they upgraded fine.

Please advise on how to correct this issue..

Thanks,

Rob

what build of of 5 were you running? some times running older builds of a previous version can cause updates to take a long time or not complete

How big is the Firebird database? Do you know roughly how many emails were in it?

It is an MS SQL database.

Each DB is about 20GB or so.

Rob,

At this point I would recommend that you go ahead and create a case at the following link to get some logging and continue troubleshooting.

I have what looks like the same problem, so will also be opening a case.

edit:  Opened a case, but can't log in to the FTP server to upload the troubleshooter report.

vanvle,

Can you please attempt to install GFI MailArchiver 6 SR1 and see if this allows you to complete this process?  You can download this from the links in http://kbase.gfi.com/showarticle.asp?id=KBID003414.
