Scheib,

The "Status: 200" is a HTTP status that means "OK".  Have you received more of these update failures or has this issue corrected itself?

Hi,

Can you please let us know since when you started receiving these?

Could it be that there is a firewall in between that is returning an HTML page to GFI MailSecurity, when GFI MailSecurity is actually expecting a zip file from our updates  web site?

Thank you

Does the firewall require proxy authentication? You can configure these as per http://kbase.gfi.com/showarticle.asp?id=KBID002546

The error that you are receiving indicates that MailSecurity is receiving an html file when it is trying to download the content updates (zip file). .

Hi,

From the MailSecurity machine, you can try browsing to http://update.gfi.com. Ensure that you get a logon screen. If you do not get the windows asking for credentials, you would need to check why that is happening.

Should the problem persist, you can send us a set of troubleshooting files as detailed in http://forums.gfi.com/General_Information/m_900727091/tm.htm

Hi Rytiss,

You would be able to confirm if all the AV engines are up to date from the GFI MailSecurity configuration -> virus Scanning Engines -> properties of the AV engine -> Updates tab. This will show when the last update occurred, and the status of the last update.

This problem started occurring for me a few days ago, then cleared up, and just now started again. There have been no configuration changes on my end, the machine is configured for direct access to the internet.

GFI, with a number of users reporting the same thing suddenly, it seems pretty unlikely that we all managed to screw our configurations up suddenly. It seems more likely, given the date, that your differential update patch may be behind it.
