I have not been getting updates for some time, while others in my network are not having problems.
My machine has exemptions in our corporate firewall that allow it to download updates. Also, it used to work...then just stopped. May be related to the latest update.
I am running:
Version: 8.0
Build: 20070525

I have the same Problem, we use the newest build lnss, installed on a W2k3 Sp2 Server. The Internet Connection is running over a Proxy with authentifacation, with Version 7 of LNSS we have no Problems.
Where can I Configure the Proxy Settings in LNSS 8.0??? I checked the knownledge Base, but i cant find any topic that helps. The Program is very expensive, but no Help for the paying users?

Hi,
Go to the LNSS Configuration -> General -> Right Click 'Program Updates' -> 'Check for updates'.
What happens?

A little more info on this: a colleague of mine just did an uninstall of version 7 and then installed version 8 (same build as mine) and his stopped being able to contact the server too. He uninstalled 8, reinstalled 7 and presto...its working again.

I think the salient point here is that the update process used to work and after the latest build it stopped working, for more than one customer. We didn't all screw up our networks at the same time to cause this problem, so the issue appears to be with the new build. I feel sure that someone at GFI can fix whatever got broken, once the finger-pointing has stopped.

I have called the support, but I wait for the answer. I dont undestand why this Program dont work with Proxys, every big Company has a proxy...

Hi all,
Can you try to insert the proxy ip and port in the Internet Explorer settings? This can be done from Internet Explorer -> Tools -> Internet Options -> Connections -> LAN Settings -> Proxy Server settings.
When you do this, LANguard NSS should ask you for the proxy authentication details each time it needs to access an ip on the internet.

Yes i have make it....but no connection in lnss....we have the IE7 on the Server. Connect to the Internet is no problem with the Internet Explorer, but lnss dont connect, and dont use the configuration of the IE, but the Version 7.0 of lnss was able to use the settings

Yes, just wanted to let whoever may or may not be reading this know that yesterday I launched GFI and for the first time in what seems like a month it downloaded a new build or something. My new build number is 20070525, and I was able to receive updates to patch metadata.
yay!

My LNSS dont take the Proxy Settings from the IE, we have IE7.....can't LNSS use the these Settings?
