The rest of the web interface works fine, but I am unable to access the reporting feature in GFI Mail Security.  I cannot pull up either the main "Reporting" section, or the "Configure Database" section.  I keep getting this error:

quote:

What happened: An unexpected error occurred in the GFI MailSecurity Configuration. How will this affect you: The current page will not load. What you can do about it:
Try to reload the current page by refreshing the browser window. If the problem persists, try to close the browser, re-open the GFI MailSecurity Configuration and navigate again to the page that caused the problem. Ensure mailflow is not affected. This can be done by going in the Realtime Monitor and making sure email is being processed in a timely manner. Ensure all GFI MailSecurity Services are running. Check for any Events that might have occurred in the Windows Event Viewer for some suggestions that might have caused this problem. If all the above fails to provide any help, you might want to search the GFI Knowledge Base for possible solutions to the problem http://kbase.gfi.com. Alternatively, you can also post a question with the problem and the error information on our user forums http://forums.gfi.com. Finally, you may want to contact GFI Technical Support, either via email or by visiting http://support.gfi.com. Please make sure you provide the error information and stack trace found below.
Error Message: Index was out of range. Must be non-negative and less than the size of the collection. Parameter name: index

Any thoughts?  I couldn't find any help in the knowledge base or the forums.

Can you please post the stack trace which can also be found on the error page that is being shown to you when you try to open the "Reporting" section. In order for this to display you will have to click on the "+" button displayed near the text "Stack Trace".

It seems that the reason you are recieving the error is due to the fact that there is a missing record inside a database. To solve the problem do the following:

Go to the "GFI" folder where you have installed MailSecurity. Then open up the ContentSecurity folder and then open the MailSecurity folder. Inside this folder you should find the database, "config.mdb", open it and see if there are any records inside the "dledb" table. If no records exist enter the following inside the "dledb" table.

id: 1
dbbackend:0
dbpath: <Location of reports.mdb>
Example of dbpath: C:\Program Files\GFI\ContentSecurity\MailSecurity\data\reports.mdb

The other fields(dbserver, dbdatase, dbuser and  dbpass) can remain blank.
Reload the Configuration and the page should now display.

If you are unable to edit the database manually let us know so we can find an alternative approach.

The config.mdb does not exist anywhere in my Mail Security install folder.

Edit: It seems somewhere along the line, the install path for MailSecurity had changed.  (I assume, during an upgrade, someone decided that the install path should change from C: to D:.  I did some digging around for the config.mdb and found it in the old C: path where some old folders/files were kept.  I copied the config.mdb into the new install path and it seems to work.

I installed GFI ReportPack for MailSecurity, but even though the reports.mdb is growing in size, and emails are getting processed, when I run the report, it comes back with "No Data Found".  Do I need to restart any services for this to work?  I have it configured to access the correct reports.mdb file.

Someone from our support team will get in touch with you in order for you to send us the reports database, we will then be able to evaluate what is going on.
