Hello, I have setup HTTP/HTTPS monitoring for two URLs which are hosted on two diffrent servers. When I check the 'Monitor Checks Status' then I see a warning sign next to those two checks and under 'More Information' I see the following message: "Unable to create a new internet session (probably your proxy settings are not correct)" The servers are in my internal LAN and when I test this check the it reports check succeeded. Does anybody have an idea why is see this warning in the 'Monitor Check Status' page? Thank you

Hi Mc2102, have you checked if the the two GFI NSM Services (Engine and attendant) are running under the credentials of a user or the LocalSystem Account? If for any reason the services can not start under a user, the services will revert to the LS Account. That account might not be able to get through you proxy server as it can not identify itself (if you have authentication forced on your proxy).

I have the same issue. Although there is no proxy server that we are using at all. I select monitor now and it works fine, but in the regular intervals to test, it constantly comes up as processing error. I don't want to set Processing Errors as failures since the website is up and running, its just that GFI is not processing the montioring correctly. I can sometimes get it to clear by restarting the services, but I would have to monitor the services all the time to see when it fails to process the test correctly. Please provide a fix or work around. Chris

Hi Chris, off the top off my head, the failure of the NSM Service to authenticate itself somewhere in the network is the most likely explanation for this as this is in fact the only possible difference between running the check automatically and with the "Monitor now" button. If you have not explicity entered the Logon credentials for a certain test or folder, NSM will run the test under the credentials of the NSM Service. beyond that, you should probably contact Technical Support, because then we are already in "analyse debuglogs"- territory.
