Hi all can I prevent the above subject not to happen again in our GFI MailSecurity and MailEssentials? Because everyday I am manually deleting bogus emails as is they are licensed users. Thank you very much, any help will be greatly appreciated. GB!

benvincenti, thank you for the reply, what do you mean SMTP mode?Umm, I think it is smtp mode because we have a separate exchange mail server also. One thing is for sure, GFI Security and Essentials are in one machine. Thanks!

You can determine the mode by checking this registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\GFI\ME14\Config\usermode

In SMTP mode MailEssentials checks the "from address" from each outbound mail. If the address is not listed in its user database it is added. If there are "bogus" addresses in your database than somebody might be sending from emails from your system that are not supposed to do so.

Many of the members in our database have quit our company but are still counted as a user. By time this will mean that we must have licenses for many more users than we actually have. This is in my opinion a bit unfair, is there a way too get around this problem?

We have the same problem. There really should be an option available to "lock" the list of licensed SMTP addresses. The non-matching addresses should simply be rejected or not processed. They really should not be added to a list of valid/licensed users.
