The underlying connection was closed: Could not establish trust relationship Tuesday, June 20, 2017 7:18 PM (permalink)
Hi, since about one hour no updates possible. We see: 
The underlying connection was closed: Could not establish trust relationship for the SSL/TLS secure channel.
Any ideas? Some GFI Certificate?

    seems like cdnupdate.gfi.com has no ssl/tls at this time.

      I'm seeing the same thing as well.  I was just about to post about it.  I'm glad I'm not the only one.

        Yes I am getting the same error both BIT Defender and VIPRE as of 11:44AM PST.

          Same happening here.  I've opened a ticket and sent a log, waiting for response. I'm not getting Email Exploit, Anti-Phishing, Vipre, Trojan & Executable Scanner or Bit-Defender

            OK, I just told GFI management about this. Think this will be fixed soon.

              Same issue here, lots of emails from WebMonitor about the updates failing...ugh lol

                  Just to give some insight on this issue.
                   
                  Basically GFI are currently migrating the update infrastructure to newer framework which is  a more secure and scale-able network. The issue here was that one of the load balancers had a missing certificate which was present on the older infrastructure and resulted in failures on the products since a trusted relationship between the product and the server side could not be establish. GFI products use HTTPS to ensure that any form of customer data is encrypted when calling in for updates.
                   
                  The impact from customer solutions was that updates were not downloaded or applied till the correct certificate was applied.
                   
                  The issue is now resolved. We do apologise for any inconvenience this issue has caused.

                    Mate this is not cool.  You tried migrating to more a secure and scale-able network last year and we all suffered 4 months worth of disruption while you guys didn't believe, thought you fixed, still didn't believe, thought you fixed again, etc until you finally acknowledged the entire migration was a disaster and reverted back.
                     
                    Now you've done it again - migrated, it has gone bad, and say you have fixed it.
                     
                    And yet since you posted that 16 hours ago I have continued to have update failures - 47 since you posted that to be exact.  The most recent was 2 exactly 5 minutes ago.
                     
                    Combined with this is a flaw in GFI whereby it will intermittently stop working when an update fails - your support team have tried to assure me this was fixed in patch 2 last month, but I still suffer this glitch.  Randomly when these updates fail GFI will cease to work anymore - it simply does absolutely nothing, all mail flow stops, until restarted.
                     
                    As I said, not cool.  For a product that is designed to protect our email, in the past 8 months it has caused immense disruption to it and your team are incredibly slow to react, understand, and even believe what is happening.  It shouldn't take days at a time to make each small step on your very long journey to understanding your products fault, we have networks to run and answer for :(

                        I'm also having auto update issues.  It appears to be only affecting anti-phishing.  Started for me on Thursday morning June 21st.  Phishing updates ran fine for a few hours on the 21st in the late evening.  However, today it's broken again.
                         
                        Can we please get an update on the issue GFI?  It would seem as though your migration is still affecting customers

                            Thanks for typing that out, it saved me the job. I agree with everything you say in there. These muppets do not work in the real world, they think their outdated interface is the dogs danglies when really it is  far less that I expect. But, more importantly, the engineers at the back end are playing with something that is obviously out of their skill zone. Can I suggest everyone put and auto forward on all the alerts to and their account manager/ distributor. Every email hitting  productsupport at gfi.com triggers a support request, let see how they like getting flooded with emails every evening and every weekend.
                             
                            Has anyone done a market assessment for alternatives? Lets start a discussion.

                              yesterday opened support-case - till now without any response!
                              Reason is known. GFI uses from Windows Server build-in procedures for SSL/TSL.
                              If they are not available in expected version (like in Windows Server 2003) or disabled for some reasons (who is using IE on the server?) then the download of updates fails.
                              Please try if you can open https://meupdate.gfi.com/ using IE for the server (system integrated SSL/TSL).
                              Next the same with Firefox (own SSL/TSL procedures).
                              IE "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage", Firefox "Welcome to: GFI-DownloadServer-PROD-04"
                              Page properties (Firefox): Connection encrypted TLS_ECDHE_RSA_WITH_AES_128_GCM_SHA256, 128-bit-key, TSL 1.2
                               
                              Not working updates:
                              1. Trojan & Executable Scanner
                              2. Anti-Phishing
                              3. Email Exploit
                              4. BitDefender Anti-Virus
                              5. VIPRE Anti-Virus
                              6. ? (I've registered two antivirus engines, I don't know if updates for Kaspersky/Intel/Avira are working)
                              Only update for SpamRazer works - not provided by GFi-server.
                               
                              BTW: since yesterday fails Anti-Phishing-update on the never server as well.
                               
                              Possibilities for GFI:
                              1. Reconfiguration of update-server with "fall-back" protocolls/encryption.
                              2. Own connections' procedures, OS-independent (like Firefox)
                              3. Go back to the old update-server (again...) and think/implement/test again.
                              As IT-manager I expect more as "learning by doing" from GFI, especially for paid support/subscription-fee.
