I have a system crash when connect my iPod. My laptop computer is an HP Compaq 6710b, it has Windows XP - SP3 and all security patches installed, 2.6 GB of RAM GFI EPS 4.0 build (20080215).

When I connect my iPod in my controlled workstation I receive a blue screen.

What's the model of ur iPod? At least U have a BSOD, our Safe-Net USB key keeps reboot our HP D7x00 & Dell OptiPlex 755 workstations w/ EPS v4 agent installed. The current workaround is not to deploy EPS agent on those machines!

I run the debug tool and the resoult is:

BugCheck 1000000A, {0, 1c, 1, 804fb02c}

Probably caused by : usbaapl.sys ( usbaapl+46c4 )

I need to borrow an iPod from my wife in order to duplicate your incident first then attempt to figure out the cause & hopefully workaround (if available) at ESEC v4! ;-(

We have just begun testing and all ipods and iphones crash windows xp on connection. Full hard reboot. These devices have been around a long time now so I don't see the problem.
Hardware is Sun ultra 20 & HP xw6600 both running windows xp.

Can the fix include the new iphones due to be released soon please.

I would like to add to this info - Our company uses Dell pc's - Latitude D430, D600, D610, D620, D630, Optiplex GX270, GX280.
If iTunes is installed on any of these machines and an iPod is then plugged in we get an instant BSOD.

If iTunes is not installed, then no BSOD occurs.

Must be a fairly major problem - especially given that iPod's have been around for a while now. Can GFI please fix this problem ASAP.

Users with a maintenance agreement have access to a patch that is still being developed in regards to GFI EndPoint Security agent functionality.  For users without the maintenance agreement, the patch will be included in the next build of GFI EndPointSecurity.  You will want to contact our support department and ask for the latest GFI EndPointSecurity Agent patch.  Although this may not resolve 100% of the Blue Screen / system crash issues, it will be the first step towards troubleshooting any issue of this nature.  Many users find it resolves their trouble.
