SpamRazer can't update

Status: offline 		After upgrade from 14.0 to 14.1 SpamRazer can't update. But on the other server with ver. 14.0 yet, SpamRazer updates every 15 minut. The same network, the same proxy...

Can you provide us with the MailEssentials debug logs to help us identify why updates are failing?

In AuSpamRazer.gfi_log.txt there is error "Updating failed due to a network error (err: 2)"

It would be helpful if I can see the whole log file (and bak file if available).  To send me the log files, please run the troubleshooter and then compress the contents of the Support folder (in GFI MailEssentials folder) and upload to our support FTP by following these instructions:

Once that the upload is complete, please let me know the name of the folder in which you have uploaded the files.

We have checked the debug logs and there seems to be a connection issue with the download server.  We are investigating the problem.

Status: offline 		I am experiencing the same problem with Spamrazer updates after updating to 14.1.

"Updating failed due to a network error (err: 18)"

Have the update servers changed with the new version? The only thing I remember with previous version is that I have set up 3 mailessentials services to start as my domain administrator which setup has reverted them back to LacalSystem.

We have identified the cause of these failures.  Can you please do the following:
- clear your DNS cache
- optionally, restart any DNS servers.

If this should fail to fix the problem, please contact us asap.

What do you mean exactly with "restart any DNS servers"? Which one? And why? Because there is a TTL in every DNS record, so why should I restart DNS servers?

Status: offline 		Try clearing your local DNS cache with: ipconfig /flushdns

Also clear the cache and restart the DNS server that your MailEssentials is using for resolution. Despite there being a TTL on records, I don't believe a Microsoft server always honours this.

I tried this fix, but I don't know if it goes
Because I received an email notification " SpamRazer updates have been downloaded and updated successfully.", but in management console at SpamRazer Update window there is still version 2009.08.27.13.36.11 and Last Attempt Result :Download failed.

Status: offline 		we have nearly the same problem, except after installing this patch the updated version seems to be from 2009.09.02  before it was an older one. But i still recieve Mails that update fails and spmarazer shows that it fails....file was uploaded called binderer.de.zip
