I am trying to create a GFI software audit scan that only scan for version of Adobe Reader installed on the computer. I have tried, but all other software shows up as unauthorized. I recently pushed out an install package to update Adobe Reader on all desktops and I want to make sure there are no old versions still out there and that the install was sucessful. Any help would be great. Thanks!

You are correct, that the other applications will show up - Often this can be done by performing a scan of the machine, then simply filtering the scan results for machines that do NOT have the specific version of Adobe installed.

Is it possible to create a filter that would show any and all versions of Adobe Reader? Possibly by using special characters? I am just looking to make sure all computers are up to date with software. However, I also want to make sure there are no old versions out there. Example; I pushed out a script to update a pc to version of Adobe Reader 9.1.3, but there is still 8.1.2 installed on the computer. If I only filter for the version 9.1.3, I won't know if there is a straggler version out there on the computer because the filter would show that the correct version is installed. Plus I would hate to have to create a filter for every version of Adobe Reader.

I plan on doing this for Java too, so being able to create one filter that would include all versions would be most benefical. Thanks for your help!

As far as I am aware there is no way to create this filter specifically. It is a great feature request.

Thanks for your help and please pass it along as a future feature request. I think other people would find it pretty useful.
