Sending TIF Documents I receive the following error: 1706 : Document Conversion Error. There is no application associated with the file extension of the attachment. Check that the 'print to' shortcut (Print association) for this file exists on the server machine. In server 2008, you can set the program associated with opening a file but I do not see where to set the printto association. Has anyone come across this issue? How did you resolve it? Thanks in advance...

Hi jhowell, Another thing you could try doing is the following: - Add 'Desktop Experience' Feature from Windows 2008 Server Manager. (This will enable 'Windows Photo Gallery' which handles TIFF / TIF images) - Add TIFF / TIF extensions to the Document Conversion List (GFI FAXmaker Configuration > Advanced > Document Conversion > Properties) Regards,

In addition to the previous post, On the GFI FAXmaker server: Install the Irfanview Application (it should be free and available to the public): http://www.irfanview.com/ Set Irfanview to handle the tif/tiff images on your machine (In Irfanview, Click Options, Set file associations..., select tif/tiff, click ok) Use the below instructions at your own risk: In the registry (Before making any changes, I would suggest backing up your registry): Edit: [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SystemFileAssociations\image\shell\print\command] This should have the key:(Default)REG_EXPAND_SZ="C:\Program Files (x86)\IrfanView\i_view32.exe" %1 /print Delete under: [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SystemFileAssociations\image\shell\print\DropTarget], the "Clsid" (REG_SZ) entry This should allow for the GFI FAXmaker to print to the FAXmaker printer without any prompts, and thus convert tif/tiff images for sending.
