I installed version 5 yesterday and this morning when I came in MailArchiver was down.  I discovered that the "D:\Program Files\GFI\MailArchiver\Search\Temp" directory had over 20GB of zip files in it.  It actually filled up the D:\ drive on the server and caused MailArchiver to crash.

What are these .zip files for?  Can they be safely deleted?  Since they are in a temp directory I would assume that they should be cleared out with some sort of process.  Files in there date back almost 2 months.

I submitted a support request over 6 hours ago but have not heard from anyone other than the automated response.  Any help would be appreciated as I would like to get our installation up to the current version 6 in the very near future.

Great.
Questions I have:
1)      What are these files from and why are they there?  (They look like zipped up files that could possibly be email attachments)
2)      Why did these files build up so much that they filled up the server's hard drive? (over 20GB worth)
3)      How can I prevent this from happening in the future?

Many Thanks

Please ensure that you have the correct permissions on that folder.

System and Administrators should have full control on the temp folder.

Can you please enable debug mode (You can follow the procedure at http://forums.gfi.com/General_Information/m_900727063/tm.htm to do this). If this happens again please send me the debuglogs at roderick(at)gfi.com

Can you tell me what these files are used for and why they are placed in this temp directory?

They are just temporary files used by the indexer during indexing.
