I just started evaluating MailSecurity yesterday, along with MailEssentials. Generally, the tests have been going very well. We're at:
GFI MailSecurity for Exchange/SMTP v8.0 GFI MailEssentials for Exchange/SMTP v9.0
One thing I don't understand. The content and attachment filtering started processing existing mail and public folders. I had set the properties to catch inbound traffic only.
Lots of existing material got quarantined because of the content filter. I turned that off, but left Attachment filter on. I got in this morning and found that it had gone through some of our large public folders (historical entries), and quarantined LOTS of attached word documents, etc.
Is there a way to stop MSEC from scanning existing mailboxes/folders?
Thanks, Don
