I am a former SELM user and I really liked the SELM Monitor. Will there be equivalent functionality for Events Manager anytime soon. I will continue running SELM parallel with Events Manager until there is something like the SELM Monitor for Events Manager. I have found that using SELM monitor is the most efficient way to review logs.

Tmueller, In GFI EventsManager you can use the Events browser to acheive the same functionality. You can create a query that lists only critical events and save this query. Every time you access the query, only the required events will be displayed.

I'am also a former SELM user and wanted to know, how to manage Eventsmanager from my workstation and not via Remote Destop Connection from my server running Eventsmanager. Is there a hidden option on installation like SELM ("languardselm5.exe /showoptions") to install only a client on my workstation, who is connected to my Eventsmanager-Server / Databaseserver? Tnx for answer in advance.

Using a query is not as efficient as using the SELM Monitor. With the volume of logs that have to be reviewed, it was so nice to be able to sort the logs in all different ways and use the RIGHT CLICK - Review feature to remove the logs from view leaving fewer logs to review. Repeating the "sort" with fewer logs and then the RIGHT Click -Review until all were gone from the view was a really nice feature. Usng a "query" is not as efficient. The monitor was not perfect, though, because if you did not get to the monitor before subsequent scans then older events were overwritten before you had a chance to "REview" them. I was sure the Monitor was going to be available in Events Manager with this overwritting feature improved. I was disappointed that Monitor was not even available in EventsManager. This is the one feature about Events Manager (as opposed to SELM) that I don't like. I don't really want to discontinue using SELM until this feature is available in Events Manager.

When will the standalone monitor be available? Is the feature request high priority?
