I'm having an issue with my ReportCenter (version 3.5). I can run reports manually, but scheduled reports do not run. Also, I am able to edit one scheduled report. But, If I edit another report's schedule and try to save the changes, ReportCenter locks up with a message "Synchronizing with Scheduler. Please wait..." If I terminate the windows process, I can then go in and edit one scheduled report. But, then after that, if I edit another, same thing happens. Sometimes it locks up as soon as I try to edit the task (just by attempting to open it). I did not find anything like this in the knowledgebase or forums, so I'm not sure if anyone else has experienced this before. I tried re-setting the service's logon properties, but still have the problem. Has anyone seen this? Thanks Ted

Ted, Please ensure you are running the latest edition of the report center (20071109) and the latest edition of the report pack (20060724.) Beyond that, this issue may need to be addressed by our technical support department.

Thanks Drew. I have all the latest versions, etc. I ended up re-installing GFI NSS and the Report Generator. The report generator doesn't do this as often now. But, I notice that if I try to setup two schedules, one after the other, this occurs on the second schedule setup. Or, if I create a schedule and then go in and edit another it locks up. What I've done is that as soon as I'm done with a specific schedule, I just exit. If I have to do other changes, I just go back in and make changes and I never have the problem.

I have the exact same issue with almost exact same workaround. If I want to create two seperate scheduled reports, I have to create one then exit the program and then go back in and create the second. Otherwise, I get the pop that says "Synchronizing with Scheduler". Only difference on my workaround is that I am never able to edit an existing scheduled report. If I try to, application freezes with no messages. Seems to be a bug that GFI needs to address.

I have seem issues similar to this before. I believe it has something to do with the upgrade process. There is a toolcfg_scheduler.xml file in the ReportPack folders that may be causing some of this trouble. Some users report that when they open this file in Internet Explorer they receive errors about the xml structure.

Drew, Thanks for the response. I found the toolcfg_scheduler.xml file and was able to open it in IE with no errors. Also, this was not an upgrade. It was a fresh install of the latest version of ReportCenter.

Without looking into the reportpack log files, I am not sure why this issue is occuring. I have not been able to reproduce it locally on my test machine. If you could open a support ticket at http://support.gfi.com, we can get this resolved and post the resolution for anybody else with this issue.
