Good Afternoon,

I have GFI Mail-Essentials and Mail-Security installed on same machine that Exchange Server. The folder that was created on installation is on disc "C",  but this disc is full. Is there some way to reinstall the aplication and redirect the creation folder to disc "D" without losing the configuration?

The disc "D" has free space a lot. If I donīt to clean the disc "C", the machine will stop!

Thanks for any information.

Unfortunatery no solution, just an other proplem.

I have the same problems with the disk space, but my first installation was only a few weeks old, so i could accept a data loss.

So I tried to reinstall Mailessentials to an other drive, but there was no chance to enter a different  location for the istallation.

If your debug logging is on, you can switch it off and delete all files in the "DebugLog" folder  (there is a KB article somewhere in the forum). It gives back about 200MB of Disk space.

Installing GFI MailEssentials on a new server using a different user retrieval method
Article ID: KBID002430
http://kbase.gfi.com/showarticle.asp?id=KBID002430

Once you have the necessary information from your current installation uninstall GFI MailEssentials.

Open the registry and delete the key HKEY_Local_Machine\Software\GFI\ME12.

Reinstall GFI MailEssentials and continue to follow the steps in KBID002430.

This should allow you to install GFI MailEssentials on another drive.

John,

I think this solution is very complicated. Is there some way to move these files only?

From:
C:\Program Files (x86)\GFI\ContentSecurity\MailSecurity\Data\reports.mdb
C:\Program Files (x86)\GFI\MailEssentials\Data\reports.mdb

To:
D:\Program Files (x86)\GFI\ContentSecurity\MailSecurity\Data\reports.mdb
D:\Program Files (x86)\GFI\MailEssentials\Data\reports.mdb

Thank you very much.

Rafael,

This is possible.  What you want to do is the following:

GFI MailEssentials:

Copy the reports.mdb from C:\Program Files (x86)\GFI\MailEssentials\Data\reports.mdb to D:\Program Files (x86)\GFI\MailEssentials\Data\reports.mdb and then do the following:

1.  Open GFI MailEssentials Configuration
2.  Expand Email Management
3.  Open the properties of Reporting
4.  Click Configure
5.  Browse to new location of reports.mdb
6.  Click test
7.  Click Apply and OK

GFI MailSecurity:

Copy the reports.mdb from C:\Program Files (x86)\GFI\ContentSecurity\MailSecurity\Data\reports.mdb to D:\Program Files (x86)\GFI\ContentSecurity\MailSecurity\Data\reports.mdb and then do the following:

1.  Open GFI MailSecurity Configuration
2.  Expand Reporting and go to Configure Database
3.  Copy the new location of the database into the file location
4.  Click Apply

This should get you going with those files in the new location.
