Hi everybody, I have a simple question about the GFI Outlook Connector. Currently we're testing the automated installation of the Outlook Connector through GPO. I stumbled about the configuration point "datapath root" where I can configure the local store point on the client machine. I wonder how much data is stored locally on the client. OK, I know, that the config files are stored local which seems to be around ~2MB for each user. Are there any more files stored local? best regards

datapath root integrate.it, Each GFI MailArchiver user will also store a local .FDB database in Documents and Settings\%user%\Local Settings\Application Data\GFI\MailArchiver6 folder. This will store a local cache of the users emails. Regards, Ben Vincenti GFI Software - www.gfi.com Web & Mail Security, Archiving & Fax, Networking & Security

Hello Ben, thank you so far for the answer, but I have a additional question about this .FDB database. Lets assume I have archived ~2 GB E-Mails for this user, will the FDB. database the same size? Is there any way to prevent this local storing? best regards

You can define if offline access is possible/allowed. In case of offline access, you can define how many days archived mails are stored offline (local). Also the amount of locally stored mails can be defined. In my case for example, I have about 600 Megs of mails on my local drive with 30 days of offline access. Hope this helps!

As far as I know, offline access is only configured within Outlook with the connector installed. Config can be done in the properties of the folder "GFI MailArchiver Mailbox". Offline access enabled and 30 days are the default values.

solved, new Beta comes with a updated *.adm template to disable caching through group policy. Nice work GFI!
