When I try and delete/notify quarantied emails (thoruhg my browser, not the moderator client) I get a messages saying 'xxxxx already done!'.

How has this already been processed? I did not do it and there are no other mail administrators.

It is as if someone had already deleted the mail. These are RECENT emails, less than 4 hours old. Also, the quarantined emails sent to me and what I see in the moderator client to not match up.

Any ideas?

Just a little more information...

The specific error I get is:

Processing request... Done
Operation Failed: Quarantined item already processed. (Error: 0X8004FF01)

Anyone?

Hi,

Are you able to see and approve the item that causes this issue, from the Moderator client?

How many items are causing this issue?

Can you please explaing what is different between the mail in the moderator client and the quarantine emails, when you say:
quote:
Also, the quarantined emails sent to me and what I see in the moderator client to not match up.

I am having exactly the same problem as described here. Every time I try to approve OR delete an email I get the same message:
Processing request... Done
Operation Failed: The original mail for this item was not found. Please retry later. (Error: 0X8004FF03)
If I look on the moderator client there is a really long list of outstanding emails, but it wont let me approve or delete these either. It just tells me that it cant delete the item.

Please help!

Hi,

Do you have any anti-virus software scanning the MailSecurity machine?

Has anything been deleted manually from the MailSecurity\Quarantine directory?

Yes we have the usual BitDefender and Norman running with the Mailsecurity and until recently also had McAfee scanning the actual machine. I took this off though in case it was this that was causing the problem. Some items had been deleted manually in the moderator client, but now it wont allow deletion of new items.
Havent looked in the quarentine directory - should I try that?

Hi Lucy,

Do you mean that after disabling the anti-virus software completely, the issue re-occured with new items?

What is the version and build of MailSecurity you are using?

Hi Patrizia

Yes, after I removed the McAfee software the issue still occurred. And because the GFI won't let me approve or delete any of the mail it is stacking up in the moderator client. There are hundreds of messages and I cant get rid of any of them!

We are running Ver 7.2 Build 20020903

Have just noticed that my error message is not quite the same as the one posted by the other user on this board - theirs says 'item already processed' whereas mine says 'The original mail for this item was not found. Please retry later. (Error: 0X8004FF03)'

Hope this helps!

Lucy

Hi again Patrizia

I've just tried to approve a couple of items again this morning and miraculously it worked! However there is still a long list of items in the moderator client that cant be deleted. Is there any way of deleting these?

Thanks for your help

Lucy

Hi,

In a previous post, Patrizia asked if any items where manually removed from the <MailSecurity\quarantine> directory? She actually meant if any user browsed to this directory and removed files from this location. This would cause the errors that you have encountered.

This may have also been caused by a virus scanner. E.g. a virus is blocked by MailSecurity and saved to the <MailSecurity\quarantine> directory. The virus scanner will detect the virus and will delete the file. MailSecurity will not be able to delete the file, since the file is not found.

I am seeing the same or similar problem. I work the quarantine daily from the Moderator. Email notifications go to the admin and I don't work them there. I have seen situation where a string of 5-6 quarantine entries can't find the associated files in the quarantine directory. I check there an they are not there. Nobody else can work these so where did the files go? It is as if MSec added the Q datbase entry and sent the message but forgot to copy the files to the quarantine directory. Running latest MSec. Running VirusScan on server with GFI and subfolders excluded. Any updates on this issue?

Hi,

What type of quarantined items are causing this issue? Are these items virus related?

Can you confirm that the quarantine directory is not being scanned by virus scanner?

Hi - I have had this problem for three weeks. When I receive an email from GFI Mailsecurity I click on approve - I get this error message "Processing request... Done
Operation Failed: Quarantined item already processed. (Error: 0X8004FF01)". If I then terminal services onto the Mailsecurity server and use the moderator client I can see the email and attachment in question and can approve it but it takes a while. I use nod32 as an antivirus solution and in it's exclusion list is the directory c:\program files\GFIMailSecurity . The approval email used to work approximately four weeks ago or so - I can't think of anything thats changed except GFI being updated that may cause this problem. I am using GFIMailSecurity 8.1 build 20040723. Plse help.
