Hello everybody,

I have installed the GFi MailSecurity 10.0 (build 20080614) on our Smarthost maybe 3 weeks ago.

The first week I saw in the quarantine folders of the MailSecurity Management page the quarantined emails for this day, the past day, the whole week and total. But suddenly this function doesn't show any data. In the first week I get 712 quarantined messages and since two weeks I get no one?? I think their is something wrong with this. Please help me with that?

best regards

It seems nobody can help me with this problem until now.

I use the mdb file for the database. the file is growing constant. At the realtime monitor I see overall stats for processed items and  quarantined items. But I don't see them when I use the quarantine folder and also when I use the ReportPack. It seems like ther are no information for this time. Thew file is now 470 MB big and the date is the actuall one. SO it is still in use. But why I don't get any information out of it?

If you need mor information please contact me.

best regards

Hi
most probably the quarantine database is corrupt

there are two procedures I can suggest. You can either repair the quarantine database or else replace the quarantine database with a new copy (losing all emails already found in quarantine)

To try and fix the quarantine database
1. Stop GFI MailSecurity Attendant
2. Make a backup of C:\Program Files\GFI\ContentSecurity\MailSecurity\QuarStore\MetaData\quarmdat.mdb
3. Open quarmdat.mdb with Microsoft Access
4. Try to repair the database --> Tools..Database Utilities..Compact and Repair Database
5. Start GFI MailSecurity Attendant (close Microsoft Access first)

To replace the quarantine database with a new copy
if you do not need items that are found in the quarantine store you can replace the database by
1. Stop GFI MailSecurity Attendant
2. go to the following folder C:\Program Files\GFI\ContentSecurity\MailSecurity\QuarStore\MetaData
3. rename the file quarmdat.mdb to quarmdat.mdb.old
4. delete the file quarmdat.ldb (if it exists)
5. copy the file quarmdat.mdb.new to quarmdat.mdb
6. Delete the files found in the following folder: C:\Program Files\GFI\ContentSecurity\MailSecurity\QuarStore\RawData
7. Start GFI MailSecurity Attendant
