We have had ME running for quite some time now with no problems.  On July 12 ME quit processing the public folders and the emails are piling up in these folders.  We are running 12.0 build 20060628.

We are using MAPI to connect and GFI is installed on the Exchange 2003 sp1 server.  Public scanning is enabled.  When we click "scan now" no error messages are generated in the GUI or the event log, but the emails remain in the folders.

Any clue what would make ME quit processing and how to fix this?

Thanks!

i) Have you tried switching to Public Folder Scanning using IMAP?

ii) Please ensure that the IMAP Service is Enabled on the Ms Exchange Server.

iii) Click Scan now once you have configured this, and determine if the problem persists.

Thank You!

I just tried using the Administrator account and it generated the following error:

The IMAP test failed for the following reason:
Could not create the test folder.
x0005 NO You do not have permission to create submailboxes.

I was able to get a test succeeded message using imap, but it still does not process the public folders.

Disregard that.  I had to close Outlook and open it back up.  All the messages have now been moved.  Thank you, it appears that IMAP fixed the issue.

rvtucker,

Are you running GFI MailEssentials with a Microsoft Exchange cluster?

I'm a single Exchange 2000 Server with ME installed on it.
At the point I made this request, nothing was processing automaticly reguardless of the settings....  I had to enter ME and select "Process now".  After searching here, I went and simply deleted all the backed up "pending processing" emails.  Now everything is processing as advertised.  I assume one of them was plugging up the works?
At any rate, processing seems to be back up and running for me.
Vince

I've got the same issues, but with Exchange 2003 server.

If I try to enable IMAP, I get the error message
quote:

GFI MailEssentials Configuration
The IMAP test failed for the following reason:

Could not create the test folder.

x0005 NO You do not have permission to create submailboxes

It doesn't matter i I enter Administrator or"MYDOMAIN\\Administrator" as the username.

Patrizia,

I am running it on a cluster and having this problem.  IMAP seems to be working, however I would like to stay on Mapi if possible.  Why do you ask if it's on a cluster?

I have created and uploaded the files to a folder called "city of Toledo" on the FTP server.
