For testing, I have installed GFI Eventmanager 8 to a Windows 2008 Server (32-bit / full install). The database connection works fine (to a Remote 2003 Server with SQL 2005 installed), but I'm not able to start the GFI Eventmanager Service. Also the EventLog gives me no idea what's wrong. The second problem is, that I'm not able to install the Report Pack. The error message was: GFI EventsManager 8 Report Pack required .NET Framework version 1.1.4322 in order to run properly. Is .NET Framework 1.1 availlable for Windows 2008 Server ???

Not sure abt the 32-bit W2K8 but in my 64-bit W2K8 Enterprise Edition, ESM v8.1 is working fine, including the ReportCenter/ReportPack. You can download and install .NET Framework 1.1 or 2.0 Redistribution Pack and install on 64-bit W2K8 server and they all work fine except during the install, the system will warn you that 1.1 & 2.0 have known incompatibilites. I didn't bother to check out the KB link but my ESM v8.1 is working fine in my 1st W2K8 64-bit server.

Hi, I am also having the same problem. Installed on Windows Server 2008 standard. System log says: A timeout was reached (30000 milliseconds) while waiting for the GFI EventsManager service to connect. Anyone else out there using Server 2008? Thanks.
