Hello, we got a problem sending SMS via GFI-SMS-Form. Since we installed FaxMaker Build 20051118, Faxmaker sets some curious characters in front of the normal text: Begin of the message The result is, that "german" characters like "ä ö ü" followed later in the sms, will be replaced by curious characters like "Ü". Sending via Outlook-Mail in text-mode, there is no problem and all characters are ok. Using latest FaxMakerClient or older one, same problem. In Faxmaker Build 20050524 the problem didn't exist.

additional problem found: In the previous version, the quantity of characters were counted while typing and displayed on the bottom (SMS-Form, right side). Now there is only a 0/0.

Hi, Sorry for the delay. 1. Are you running the FAXmaker client on an OS which is not English? 2. Do the strange characters at the beginning appear all the time, or only when you type certain charcters? 3. We would require some debug logging from the FAXmaker client. Can you please perform the following: a) Close all the FAXmaker applications on the user's machine b) Open Regedit (Start -> Run -> Type 'regedit' and press Enter) c) Browse to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\GFI Fax & Voice\FAXmaker Client\Config] d) Change the 'debug' dword value from '0' to '1' e) Reproduce the problem. f) Could you send us the troubleshooter files? These files contain important information, which will allow us to resolve this issue. The troubleshooter files can be generated by running the application called 'trouble.exe' from the FAXmaker Client installation directory. Please answer the questions set by the troubleshooter as accurately as possible. Once the troubleshooter program is finished, it will create a number of files under the FAXmaker Client\Support directory. Please compress all files in one zip file and send it over to us for analysis. IMPORTANT NOTE: Please compress all files into one zip file and send it over to us for analysis. Hi, thanks for the reply. 1) Yes, FaxmakerClient is running on Windows XP German 2) Yes, they appear at the beginning even if I use no german characters in the message 3) I've sent them just some minutes ago ;) The problem exists in the newest versions of faxmaker server and client (from December) too.

I have just loaded the most current version of Faxmaker 12 and am now experiencing the exact same problem. SMS messages worked fine with the old version and now with the new version I suddenly have i>¿ at the begining of all SMS messages received that are sent via faxmaker. I am using the English version with SMS via Clickatell a it had worked fine until today! Hopefully someone can fine the problem

Hello, Have you any solutions to this? I have a similar problem with the Swedish characters åäö (ÅÄÖ). I can send correctly from Outlook/Exchange to my mobile, but when I send from the mobile-phone I only got the letter å (not the others ÅÄÖäö). Regards Bengt
