Hi support Team,

the new release form the outlook connector was updated on the client pc. By linking in the GFI Archiv over the Outlook options, the archiver found automatically the user logged in on the desktop station. But on confirm i get the error message: Unknown Error, Error-Code: 0x80040605.

I Guess that the system has not updated the new login password for the user on the gfi connector, however the user can login into the web frontend.

With best regards
Markus

- Please close Outlook
- Disable all anti-virus software
- Uninstall the Outlook Connector
- Ensure that no files remain under:
C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Local Settings\Application Data\GFI\MailArchiver6
C:\Program Files\GFI\MailArchiver 6 Outlook Connector
- Install the Outlook Connector again

Does the problem persist?

Does the issue occur on all your clients?

Do you have the Exchange Admin Tools installed on the client by any chance?

The problem exists on all clients, and the Exchange Admin tool isn't installed.

Can you find any problems in the debug logs of the Outlook Connector? C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Local Settings\Application Data\GFI\MailArchiver6\DebugLogs

Yep that should be the way to go, but the reaction time isn't that fast as your reply on the forum......

I'm interested to know how / if this was resolved as I have this issue on 1 PC that I've upgraded the outlook connector on. Very reluctant to roll it out to other machines now...

Hello again,

sorry for my late answer.
The problem still exists after deleting the mentioned files.

And yes on the relevant PC are Exchange Admin Tools installed.

Any idears ? The problem is only on that machine.

Best Regards
Markus

Hi @all,

had the same problem atm.

in my case the following worked:
1. installing the connector with an admin account
2. DO NOT open Outlook with the connector with the admin account
3. log on with the user account
4. be happy :-)

cheers,
André
