I had read in one of the earlier notes, that the outlook connector has some functionality issues if outlook is running in cahced mode.  Is this still true, and what issues occur?

I have the same question. I have users in the field that used Cached mode on their laptops but not in the office.

Hi
the problem when outlook is in cached mode is that the Internet Message ID of a particular email differs from the Sent Folder to the actual email sent.

Thus if a user1 sends email X to user2 then the email in user1's Sent Folder will have a different Internet Message ID from the one in user2's Inbox.

Having the cached mode on thus will mean that items in the sent folder will not be identified on GFI MailArchiver. But one must note that they will still be placed in the Sent Items folder. Only subsequent moves of such emails will not be tracked.

I still suggest you leave the cached mode on, as this limitation only applies to the Sent Items folder.

Hi,

We have the same issue as an earlier poster in that most of our PCs are notebooks and use the cached mode.

It would be a shame if this limitation remains. I organise most of my emails into job folders using rules. I have also turned on the Outlook option "In folders other than the Inbox, save replies with original message". So not many of my emails every end up in the Sent Items folder.

Is this limitation ever likely to be addressed? Would the only way to resolve it be to add some message ID updating code to the outlook connector itself??

For the moment I will probably wait-and-see before deciding whether to roll-out the Outlook Connector.

Mark
