Hi I'm having a problem with faxing from Outlook 2003 as HTML using faxmaker 12 [build 20050217]. The lines on the message body are running into each other.

e.g. If I send:
code:
text
text
text

It comes out as:
code:
text text text

When we send using plain text the formatting is fine this only happens when we use HTML. We don't have word set as the e-mail editor but the source code of the email looks like this:

code:
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2><SPAN class=881261313-08072005>text</SPAN></FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2><SPAN
class=881261313-08072005>text</SPAN></FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial size=2><SPAN
class=881261313-08072005>text</SPAN></FONT></DIV>

I guess that Faxmaker doesn't recognise the <DIV> tags.

Does anybody have any idea how to get around this problem (other than using plain text!).

Regards,
Andy

Similar problem on FaxMaker 12 Build 20050524 (latest) where Outlook 2003 and OWA 2003 html message bodies do not render, the DIV tags etc are sent in the fax.
Putting htm & html into the doc conversion config does not fix it either

Interesting, so it's not just us then! Does anybody know if this likely to be addressed? Or is there anyway of getting outlook to create HTML with good old fashioned tags like <br> and <p>.

Hi,

What is the format of the coverpage being used? Please note that if using HTML mail you need to use and HTML coverpage.

Eccles,

Can you please send a copy of the coverpage to support@gfi.com for further investigation?

Will this issue ever be resolved? We have the same problem as described above. We cant expect all our users to always set the email formatting to plain text every time they send a fax thrue outlook. They will forget to do this, and customers will recieve a bunch of html code instead of the text they were supposed to be getting. Why is there still no solution after all these months?

aj22,

Are you using an HTML otr an RTF coverpage?

If using an HTML coverpage, are you using a default coverpage or a custom one?

We`re using the very standard cover.rtf at the moment. Should i use one of the standard html coverpages?

aj22,

What happens if you use an HTML coverpage? Does this work correctly?

I`m finally able to try and use a html coverpage, but it doesnt change anything. The problem is, we use cover.rtf as a generic coverpage (default for everyone)

So...for testing purposes i`ve added a coverpage named test, with cinema.htm as coverpage file. I`ve added the group of the user the test fax is sent from (i`ve tried setting just the single user with same results). But i stil get the generic coverpage :S do i have to restart services for the settings to apply or something?

Hi aj22,

If FaxMaker will require you to restart the services once you have changed settings within the FaxMaker configuration, you will be notified once you close the GFI FaxMaker Configuration.

Can you please ensure that the user is part of group you have specified to use the test.htm coverpage?

Have you tried to send from another user within that group? Does the problem persist?

Thanks
